Today is Earth Day, and in honour of eco-friendly living, here are some amazing pieces made by talented artisans who are doing their part to save our planet by reducing, reusing, and recycling.

Peter Wehrspann is the founder and chief designer of Holtzundmetal in Toronto. Check out these awesome chairs. Can you guess what fabric he used??

It’s old Canada Post mailbags!! If mailbags aren’t your thing, Peter will create custom-made chairs with sentimental and previously owned fabrics or with reclaimed wood that he attaches to steel chair frames.

The Ideal Source Lounger is perfect for the dock, the garden, the patio, or even the living room. It’s made from reclaimed lumber sourced from the Greater Toronto Area.

You’ll find a whole lot of old traffic signs in Boris Bally’s Providence, Rhode Island studio:

What does he do with them?? The question is, what does he NOT do with them!! He combines the traffic signs with other materials like recycled aluminium, champagne corks, and steel hardware to create pieces like the BroadWay Armchair:

Fire & Light in California creates hand-poured glass tableware form recycled glass. The company was formed in 1995 as a partnership between the Arcata Community Recycling Center in Humboldt County and a group of local investors who wanted to develop an innovative plan for using crushed recycled glass. The result — beautiful, colourful, and unique glass dinnerware and giftware.
